Each of us has a unique way of showing up as leaders.
You may already have an idea of what that looks like. Or perhaps you’re simply aware that are moments when you show up exactly as you’d hoped and others moments when you don’t.
As leadership becomes increasingly complex, consistently showing up as the leader you want to be becomes increasingly difficult because the situations you’re leading within become harder to understand.
The better you understand the leadership situations you’re navigating every day, the more intentionally you can choose how you want to show up within it.
Every leadership situation unfolds within a constantly evolving system of people, relationships, expectations, priorities, opportunities, and conditions. The more clearly you understand that system, the easier it becomes to intentionally choose how you want to show up within it.
There isn’t one right way to lead.
The journey is discovering the way of leading that allows you to intentionally and consistently show up as the leader you’re striving to become.
Every leader is striving to become the kind of leader they want to be.
My job is to guide you through the journey that gets you there.
Each stage builds on the one before it, helping you continually develop your ability to intentionally show up as the leader you’re striving to be.
Make sense of the leadership situations you’re navigating
Your journey begins by making more sense of the leadership situations you’re already navigating.
I’ll help you develop a clearer understanding of what’s happening around you so you can respond with greater intention.
As leadership begins making more sense, you’ll naturally begin asking a different question – How do I want to show up within what’s happening around me?
I’ll help you clarify what that means for you and gradually build practices that help you show up that way with increasing intention, consistency, and confidence.
Your perspective grows through the perspectives of others.
One of the greatest advantages of developing alongside other leaders is discovering that there is rarely only one way to understand a leadership situation.
As much as I’ll support your development, I also want you to benefit from the observations, questions, and perspectives of other leaders who are navigating leadership situations of their own.
Some of the most meaningful growth happens when we make sense of leadership together.
A different way of understanding leadership
I believe the world around us will continue to evolve. I believe leadership will continue to become more complex. I believe experience and knowledge will always matter. And I believe the opportunity is to make more sense of what you already know and experience.
Because when leadership makes more sense…you can create the conditions for people to be, bring, and do their best. If you’d like to continue exploring this philosophy, here are some ideas you can explore.

Leadership shows up in the smallest moments. The few seconds between something activating in you and how you respond often shape relationships, reputations, and results far more than any strategy session ever will. This article explores what becomes possible when leaders develop the practice of noticing what is happening inside them, pausing to check in… Read more: How a Few Seconds Can Create the Leader You Want to Be
Difficult conversations are part of leadership. How you show up in those moments shapes whether the conversation moves things forward or makes them worse. There are five behaviors that, when present, heighten emotions and make it nearly impossible for those involved to bring their best selves to the conversation. When you can recognize the signs, whether in yourself or in others, you can respond in ways that increase the chances for your conversation to be meaningful. Better yet, when you get clear on how you want to show up beforehand, SCABS does not show up in the first place.
When you recognize the need to evolve your leadership practice, whether that recognition comes from newfound awareness, feedback from others, or an internal drive for growth, success hinges on more than just knowing what to change. True, lasting change requires the alignment of three essential elements that work together to create sustainable shifts in how you lead. Understanding how these elements interact can mean the difference between surface-level adjustments that quickly fade and deep practice shifts that fundamentally reshape your leadership effectiveness.
“The leader you’re striving to become isn’t created in a single conversation, workshop, or insight. It’s developed one leadership situation at a time.”
